Alissa's Pics!

Yesterday afternoon, Alissa and I went to the park for a quick shoot and I, for the first time in a long while, used only natural light & only my 50mm. Needless to say I leaned quite a bit from only an hour of shooting, I think I may work on that style a bit more from now on. Here's some of the results:

Sad day to be a soft box umbrella

Today was a very unfortunate day for my shoot through umbrella. While shooting my 365 day pic, the non-existent wind decided to come out of no where and take my light stand to the ground, breaking the mount for my umbrella. Didn't even get a chance to get my test shots done either...so now I'm stuck with bare and natural light for now. :(

PS: My SB-700 was fine, thank goodness!

So today is only day 9, and I've already missed 3 days...it's gonna be a long year. Anyway, saw the light coming from the window and loved the color tone. I wasn't sure if this shot was going to quite turn out but I actually really like the focus and feel, while trying to capture the feeling of stacked bills. Comment for any suggestions?

Day 8 I'm sorry..who did you say you were?

I have been mucho busy lately and haven't had much time to get a shot for day 6..or 7..so finally I managed to get Day 8. While shooting this, I was simply playing with the strobe and soft box to learn the settings a bit more when I realized I forgot to turn auto focus back on resulting in the above. I didn't intend to use this for my 365 but it kinda reminded me of how a lot of the time people get so caught up in their life that when they meet someone new, this is just about what they get from it, a barely recognizable face and a "I'm sorry..who did you say you were again?"

5/365 Too Early

Day 5! This morning I woke up randomly and through foggy eyes noticed it was just past 6:30am and noticed the cool soft light coming through the window and for some reason thought Hey! That would make for a cool picture...so here it is! Not too much post processing went into this one, mostly just exposure with the highlights.

Day 4. So today I've been short with time and decided to get a quick shot (no pun intended) with something around the house. I've always liked the warm light that comes from the bulb above the stove but could never capture it just right and kinda got lucky with this one. Feel free to criticize!

3/365 Shady

Day 3! So day three rolls around and I'm already struggling to get a good pic? Its gonna be a long year...
I took my big gun to work today to get my daily shot after work and came up with this. This car was parked in the very back of a sports park which was already located in the middle of no where (exaggeration) with no one around..at all..hence the name shady.

2/365 Forgotten Spaces

So I know I'm a day late posting this however this is the image for Day 2. Yay 2 days down!
Anyways, so yesterday it rained pretty much all day and didn't have anywhere to shoot for day 2, so this was inevitably taken at home. Trapped at home with no where to take pictures, I tried to capture small forgotten things that we pass by everyday and this is what I came up with.
I also really liked the texture and color the rain added...

Let me know what you think!

First image for my 365! For a while now Ive been driving by this field and always wanted to try and get a shot of this tree and yesterday I finally got myself to walk down there and give it a try. It took a few tries to finally get the composition I liked so here it is!
